I am excited to share the new Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Link purifier heater with you! It is a multi-purpose air purifier. While purifying the air you can also have a lovely cooling fan or heat.
This machine isn’t your average purifier! You can set the Dyson to automatically purify pollutants. It’s easily controlled with its remote or app. And as the Dyson purifies the air, it gives a live report to the Dyson Link App.
Modern homes are so well insulated. We are obsessed with energy levels & how much we spend on heating. And I never thought about trapping pollutants inside the home. But with all of the insulation, there isn’t a free flow of air to keep things flushed out.
I recently reviewed a Dyson cordless vacuum which I love & am super impressed with. Dyson has air suction expertise from developing their vacuum cleaners. So let’s see how they have applied their suction technology to air purification…
How the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Link Purifier Works
The new Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Link purifier heater uses Dyson’s 360° Glass HEPA filter. This filter catches 99.95% particles as small as 0.1 microns (1/100th the width of a human hair). The filter sits around base of the machine. It has a large surface area so it can efficiently make sure it gets every bit of air that comes through the machine. 360 degrees means theDyson captures air all around the machine, not just the front.
The particles are then trapped in the filter with fresh, clean air being returned to the room. Sensors inside the machine detect changes in air conditions and then automatically adjusts the airflow to maintain the rooms air quality. The Dyson purifier has so many wonderful features to offer!
Pollutants that can be found in the home include:
- Formaldehyde: Can be found in furniture, carpets & rugs.
- Carbon and coal dust: Wood-burning fireplaces and stoves emit particulate matter while in use.
- Benzene andFormaldehydee: Found in some scented candles.
- Dead skin and dirt: Cats, dogs and other household pets can spread this microscopic material around the home.
- Volatile organic compounds (VOCs): Some household air fresheners and cleaning products can contain VOCs, which can be released into the air.
- Pollen: Plants and flowers can release microscopic pollen into the air.
- Other volatile organic compounds: Gas hobs and the food cooking process itself can emit fumes and VOCs into the air.
Dyson’s priorities for an efficient purifier:
- High-quality filtration – This filter catches 99.95% particles as small as 0.1 microns.
- Air Mixing – Dyson draws air from base of the machine & forces the air up through the motor & pushes it out of the hoop at top of machine. This process projects fresh air out widely to get air from the whole room mixing together.
- Sensing – There are two sensors in the machine – one for particles (mold, bacteria pollen) and other for gases & odors. When set to auto, this machine is constantly testing the air to determine the air quality. If it senses an issue then the machine will kick in automatically as to not allow the average air quality to drop.
Our Experience with the Dyson
The biggest pro for me is that I don’t have to think about anything, the machine does everything itself! I can track the air quality of the room on the app. And, I can fully control the Dyson via the app from anywhere, even if I’m out of the house. Like the Dyson vacuum shows me how much dirt is picked up, the Dyson air purifier shows me the air conditions of the room on the Dyson App.
The hot & cold options are another plus. The fan is cooling, much like an office fan. The heater operates with a thermostat so you can set the desired room temperature & the Dyson will achieve then maintain that temperature, all of which is trackable on the Dyson App.
Watch as I unbox, set up & use the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Link purifier & Dyson App…

So far we are delighted with our air purifier. You might have noticed in the video that the first day showed the air quality as a yellow bar which means the air quality was fair. The other days are showing green for good air quality. When I first plugged the Dyson in, it was showing good air quality in the room. And it ran on auto happily. Then my husband started cutting grass outside. The windows were open & the Dyson revved up to a higher fan level & noted on the App that the air quality dropped to fair.
That was a great, unintentional test for the Dyson. It definitely kicked in when the particles from the grass started drifting into the sitting room’s air supply. Certain spring’s I have allergies & I am hopeful that my new air purifier will help me have relief next year!
I’ve have moved the Dyson air purifier all over the house. I love it most in my bedroom. I can feel a fresher air quality, and I am sleeping better with it there.

We were very kindly sent the Dyson air purifier for review purposes; but as always, all opinions are my own.
Sounds like a great little gadget. It’s quite gross who you think about what’s in the air!
You know I’ve never really considered getting an air purifier, but this sounds really good, and might be worth looking into as my husband does suffer with asthma. Love that you managed to put it to the test by accident, and that it lived up to its claims! x #BloggerClubUK
