We have been thoroughly enjoying our summer holidays. It’s been an old fashioned summer at home – no trips abroad & no camps. We have enjoyed some fun day trips, arts, and crafts and some quiet days at home with imaginative play.
I’m a huge believer in imaginative play. Anything can become an adventure with a little imagination and creative thinking. We were really delighted to receive a package from Pretend to Bee that was chock full of possibilities. It had a gorgeous princess costume, a tent, and some knight accessories. They are the perfect foundation for hours of imaginative play!

Our Experience with Pretend to Bee
The Pretend to Bee website is easy to navigate and has lots of fun costumes and accessories to choose from.
I personally love their selection of doctor and nurse costumes. I can imagine all of the fun games that would ensue while wearing those costumes! I love how they look and their functionality. If I was a child that’s what I would have chosen. 😉 My 4-year-old daughter who adores Princesses fell in love with the Pretend to Bee Deluxe Red Carpet Princess Costume so that’s what we went for!
To go along with the fun princess theme, we also received a pop-up castle tent and her older brother selected a sword and shield to protect the castle with.
The costume and accessories all arrived very well packaged. All of the items are excellent quality. The tent was easy to assemble. The timber knight accessories were ready to use straight away with is always a plus!
I’m very impressed with the Pretend to Bee Red Carpet Princess Costume and how it is lined on the inside so it’s comfortable against my daughter’s skin. It has velcro on the back so she can step into the dress, it doesn’t have to go over her head. Those two features make it easy to wear and comfortable to get around in. Plus the costume runs true to size.
The little sparkly cardigan that comes with the costume is a gorgeous addition to the princess look! The dress has a hoop on the bottom to make the dress sit like a real princess dress. The hoop is small which is great, it’s not too big to play in. It is removable through a little slit in the lining. So the hoop can be taken out and put back in as required.
The kiddies had a wonderful time creating a fun game that involved a princess, a knight and some pretend ninjas who had to be stopped from entering the castle…
Today it’s raining here in the West of Ireland so the game has been moved into the play room. My daughter has been living in her Pretend to Bee dress. It’s wearing so well and is comfortable and really well made. It warms my heart to see the kiddies use their imaginations to enjoy exciting adventures together.
