QV Skincare Review & Giveaway

This post is in collaboration with QV Skincare.

As regular readers might know, I have sensitive skin and so do my kiddies. Because of that, I’m very particular about what products we use on our skin and what products I share with you.

The kids and I have been using QV Skincare products for the past few months. And today I’m going to tell you about a few of the products and our experience with them. I also have ten Cuddle Packs of QV Skincare products to giveaway to you lovely readers (details at the bottom of the post)!

I was delighted to try QV Skincare for myself and family because their products don’t have soap, fragrance or other common irritants. It supports the skin to naturally repair itself. It is suitable for everyday use for everyone from infants to adults and for those who suffer from eczema or those with dry, sensitive skin conditions.

QV Skincare was founded in 1953 by a young Australian chemist and his wife who was a nurse. Together, they saw a need for low irritant skincare products to help restore and maintain healthy-looking skin. They created QV Bath Oil to meet the needs of the dermatology ward of Melbourne’s Queen Victoria Hospital. This soft & gentle bath oil became extremely popular with Australians looking for a gentle way to cleanse and moisturise their skin.

QV Skincare is still family owned and Australian made., which I think is fantastic. QV has expanded and is available in UK pharmacies or direct from the QV Shop.

Dry or sensitive skin conditions like eczema are really common. QV has been working to highlight both the physical and emotional impact of sensitive skin conditions. Everyday tasks, such as bath time, can be especially difficult for children with sensitive skin conditions and what should be a fun experience can often be difficult or sore.

Because we have sensitive and very dry skin in my house we were really delighted to try QV products for the past few months and let you know what we think of them!

I’ll start by telling you a bit about each product we have been using…

For Cleansing

QV Gentle Wash

QV Gentle Wash is designed for very dry and sensitive skin. This body wash maintains hydration during cleansing so it is sensitive and non-drying and non-greasy and also won’t block pores.

  1. Recommended for cleansing very dry skin.

  2. Doesn’t strip away natural oils on the skin so it maintains the skin’s natural protective properties.

  3. pH balanced, low-irritant formulation, free from colour, fragrance, propylene glycol, and lanolin.

  4. Suitable for use with conditions such as dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis & for sensitive skin.

This mild wash has been fantastic at bath time. Its non-irritant formula has been gentle on the kiddies skin and rehydrating.

QV Bath Oil

QV Bath Oil Helps revive dry skin in the bath and gives my skin a healthy glow.

  1. Clear, non-greasy formula rejuvenates large areas of dry or sensitive skin.

  2. Suitable for use with scaly skin, winter itch, dermatitis, atopic eczema and psoriasis & sensitive skin.

  3. pH balanced, low-irritant formulation, free from fragrance, colour, lanolin and propylene glycol.

  4. Particularly suitable for infants and the elderly.

I have been mixing the QV Bath Oil and QV Gentle Wash together in the bath for the kiddies which has made their skin soft and taken away the dryness.

For Moisturising

QV Cream & QV Skin Lotion

QV Cream is a highly concentrated moisturising cream for dry skin. It is a rich, protective cream that replenishes the skin and helps to hydrate dry areas. It contains squalene, a natural component found in the skin’s oil.

  1. Creates a protective barrier to help seal in the skin’s natural moisture.

  2. Helps protect the skin against dryness.

  3. pH balanced, low-irritant formulation, free from fragrance, colour, lanolin and propylene glycol.

  4. Suitable for skin conditions such as dry, scaly skin, eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis & sensitive skin.

  5. Suitable for infants and the elderly.

The QV Skin Lotion is a light lotion for all over body moisturising. It can be used daily for relief from dry and sensitive skin.

Both of these have been really fantastic on hands, arms, knees, cheeks and anywhere we have dry skin. They are both fragrance-free and super gentle so it does not sting us when it’s applied!

Our Experience

Bath time has been fantastic with the QV Bath Oil & Gentle Wash. The moisturising cream after the bath has been so helpful too and none of these products have stung my or the kiddies skin which is a huge plus. I have found the Gentle Wash to be fantastic for myself in the shower and for my hands as well.

QV Intensive Ointment – This ointment is ideal for people with chronically dry skin.

It’s been unbelievably amazing on our hands. This time of year, our hands crack and can be painfully red. My daughter who’s four especially suffers this time of year. I have been putting the ointment on her hand & down her arms where they are dry & red. All of the red and cracks went away!

The QV Intensive Ointment worked better than any product I’ve tried in the past, I’m not saying this for the benefit of this post it is genuinely an amazing ointment. The best part besides it healing her hands so well it that it did not hurt her. Products I’ve tried in the past hurt her hands when I put them on and she’d cry. There’s nothing worse than putting on a product that causes my kiddies pain from the cream that’s supposed to be helping them.

It was the same for our son, products can really sting dry and cracked hands. The ointment is thick but dries and locks in the skin which has given us truly wonderful results! Needless to say, the kids are loving the QV products!
