You don't need to paint every wall and replace furniture to transform your bedroom – you can change how it looks with only a few minor changes.
Best of all, you can quickly renovate your bedroom for under £300, although you can spend more if you want a new bed and fancy décor.
This article reveals five small changes that will transform your bedroom's look, helping you create a great space with minimal effort.
Let's jump in!

Make an epic feature wall
Feature walls are the best way to transform your bedroom's look, letting you focus your efforts in one place to keep things simple.
You can create a feature wall with one piece of large statement art above your bed, or you can paint/wallpaper it a different colour.
Our feature wall ideas article has lots of ideas – our favourite idea for 2022 is cladding, which creates a luxurious, stately impression.
Another great option is a bi-tone contract feature wall, where you split the colourway in two, either horizontally or diagonally.
If you go down the feature wall route, get a bed frame that compliments it. The most popular bed style in 2022 is ornate metal, with the Birlea Atlas and Julian Bowen Florence
proving popular in eclectic bedrooms.

Flush ceiling lights or spotlights
Most bedrooms have a pendant ceiling light that hangs down on a wire. While these evenly distribute light and work well, they limit what you can do style-wise by tethering you to light shades that can look old-fashioned.
The more modern approach is a flush ceiling light, which sits flush to the ceiling without any wire or shade. The benefit is that it unlocks more style opportunities and frees up vertical viewing space, making small rooms look bigger.
Another option is recessed spotlighting in the ceiling – these are perfect for directly above your bed with dim bulbs as reading lights.
Our favourite ceiling light for bedrooms is a flush or semi-flush Sputnik chandelier in brass or black. Check out this article for more fabulous ways to make your bedroom feel and look more luxurious.

Dress up your window space
One of the most underutilised spaces in bedrooms is window spaces, which usually get lumped with dark curtains and odd ornaments.
Dressing up your bedroom window will transform the look of your room, creating a classy focal point that draws the eye outdoors.
Here's how to do it:
Install a made-to-measure blackout window blind in your favourite colour
Hang bold, patterned curtains with tiebacks
Buy a Bonsai tree for the windowsill and decorate it with sweet ornaments
That's all you need to dress your window!
Spruce up your bedroom radiator
Radiators get no love because they are functional appliances but sprucing them up offers one of the best transformations in any space.
Radiator paint is easy to use and can transform the look of your bedroom. If you have an old, yellow radiator, giving it a fresh lick of white paint will make it look as good as new.
Alternatively, try painting it grey or dark blue. However, make sure that the paint you use is for radiators. Otherwise, it will peel with heat.
Another way to spruce up your radiator is with a radiator cover. You can get these custom-made on Etsy or buy them in standard sizes.

Dress walls with large statement art
The biggest mistake you can make when dressing walls is using multiple pieces of small artwork. You get a much more powerful effect with large statement art, which means one piece of oversized art on walls where you want to draw attention.
You can pick up unique large art from the Tate Gallery online shop, King & McGaw, and retail stores like The Range and Dunelm Mill. Etsy is an excellent source of original art, especially abstract pieces on canvas.
Alternatively, you can get wire art or a decorative mirror such as a large square Art Deco mirror. You can also hang large wooden decorations like paddles and dream catchers, which can help to give your bedroom a distinct interior style.
