1 Name three things in life that make you happy. And, please tell us a little about each one.
My daughter Sylvia: Sylvia is my world. She is so happy and bubbly and I love to spend time with her and just hang out. When she is happy I am happy.
Family Holidays: I really enjoy (when I’m well enough) going on holiday. We go to many places for a day or so but I love going away as a family for a week or longer. It’s something I hope to do in the future.
Yoda and Casper: Yoda and Casper are our Bichon Dogs. They are so loyal and spend a lot of time sitting and laying next to me. When I do leave the home they are always happy to see me and they just make me smile.
2. What’s something you do to find your happiness when you’ve lost it?
When times are tough, I write in my journal. This helps me to take time out and to think about where I’m at and where I want to be. It also helps me to focus on the things I’m grateful for.
3. What cheers you up after a long, difficult day?
I enjoy talking to my husband, having hot chocolate and watching television while I do blog work. A strange combination.
4. Does your job make you happy? If you are a SAH parent, does that make you happy?
Having Adrenal Insufficiency I am unable to work as a teacher which I used to do. I’ve been a stay at home mum most of my daughter’s life.
I now see blogging as my full time blog. I’m a stay at home mum and a blogger and I do my best to balance the two.
5. Share a happy memory with us.
My Wedding Day. It was just over three years ago and the most amazing day ever. Everything went so perfectly and the whole day was wonderful. It was the perfect wedding.
6. Do you think money can bring happiness?
Yes to some extent. For me, money would help me pay for medication I need which would give me more opportunities as a Mother and that would make me happy. I think the key to money is using it wisely.
I once lived in the Pacific Island of Tonga where the people around me were so so poor and everyone had very little money to live on, roughly around £10 a week and despite the struggle, everyone was so so happy most of the time.
You can be happy no matter how much money you have but having enough to get by helps ease the stress and having enough to enjoy treats and do fun things as a family is even better.
7. Is your happiness influenced by the things you do or the way you think?
Sometimes. When I’m unwell I can find it hard to focus and ten it’s easy to feel upset and unhappy. I have to try and stay positive and remember to enjoy each day as it comes but a positive attitude really does help during tough times.
8. Which would make you the happiest – a sun holiday, new car or a new job opportunity?
I think a new job opportunity because a good job would help me afford a holiday and a car. It’s a tough one as I have a chronic illness so I can’t exactly work a 9-5 the job, however, I would love to secure some part time work from home to go alongside my blogging. For example doing social media management.
9. Which wine makes you happier – red or white?
I don’t drink any type of alcohol and I’ve never tried it. Yes people must think that’s strange but I do like Sloeur and prefer the white grape.
10. Share a quote that makes you smile.
It’s better to aim for the stars and miss than aim for the gutter and hit.
