Enjoying the Sunshine Safely with SunSense Sunscreens

*Sponsored by SunSense

My kids love to play outside. The boys adore soccer – they live for it. Besides taking lessons, they play together in the backyard every chance they can get. Our little lady keeps herself busy on her scooter and sometimes joins her brothers in a game of soccer too. With playing outside goes protecting the skin with sunscreen.

As you might know, I have sensitive skin and so do two of my kiddies. Last year I reviewed some products from QV Skincare and found them amazing for our sensitive skin, and I’ve been using them ever since. So I was quite happy to try out some sunscreens from SunSense, a sister company to QV.

With SunSense, the products have been carefully designed to suit all skin types. Plus they go on easily, last for hours and are water resistant!

SunSense has two important messages that we should all keep in mind:

1.  Everyone can enjoy the sun safely.

2.  There’s no such thing as a safe tan.

As such, they encourage people to wear sunscreen at all times of the year, even on cloudy days because harmful UV rays can penetrate the clouds and cause skin damage.

I will tell you about the three products we were sent from the SunSense range of sunscreens – Kids, Sport Gel & Ultra and show you a video of how they go on the skin and the outdoor activities we enjoy while wearing our sunscreen.

SunSense Kids

Tested to stringent Australian standards and by pediatricians, SunSense Kids is an easy to apply, non-greasy, sunscreen designed for the delicate skin of children aged six months and above. It offers SPF 50+ broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays.

It is fragrance-free and is suitable for all skin types, particularly sensitive skin. It’s available in a bottle or a handy roll-on (which we were sent).

SunSense Kids sunscreen contains Niacinamide to help maintain the normal skin barrier function and improve the appearance of skin tone and texture. It’s perfect for at home or on holidays.

SunSense Sport

The SunSense Sports range is also tested to the stringent Australian standards. SunSense Sports range comes in two forms: SunSense Sports Gel and SunSense Sports Mist. They both offer SPF 50 broad-spectrum protection which makes them ideal for outdoor sports fans looking for a high level of protection against harmful UVA and UVB rays.

SunSense Sports Gel which we were sent feels cool and dry on your skin and are easy to apply, even on hairy skin. It’s quick-drying and water-resistant for four hours and lasts even during vigorous activities.

Suitable for all skin types including oily or acne-prone skin, the products are preservative-free and also contain Niacinamide and Vitamin E to help maintain the normal skin barrier function and protect from UV skin damage such as wrinkling.

SunSense Ultra

SunSense Ultra is a new product that has been formulated to have a lighter feel on the skin. It’s not available in the UK until May 2018 so check the SunSense website for availability.

SunSense Ultra has also been tested to stringent Australian standards. It has been developed to help protect the whole family & all skin types from sun damage. It offers four hours water resistance and SPF 50+ broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays.

This is ideal for the whole family, including children and the elderly, both at home and also on holiday.

Our Experience

I was sent a bag of samples a few months ago & we have been using SunSense sunscreens ever since. My personal favourite for my kiddies is the Kids roll on. It is so easy to apply and the scent is really lovely! I also love it for myself being honest!

The Ultra is also a fabulous product to apply. It dries quickly and does have a lighter feel than other sunscreens I’ve tried. The Sport gel will be ideal for the boys this summer when they are out for the day in the sun playing soccer!

Check out my video below. You can see the different sunscreens up close and how they apply to the skin…

SunSense can be bought in the UK on prescription or from John Lewis, Waitrose, Ocado, and Amazon. It can also be purchased online in the Sunsense Shop.
