Hello everyone – I’m back from 8 days & 8 nights of fun filled travel along the south coast of Ireland. It was our first extended holiday in Ireland. We have had 2 or 3 night stays in the past but this was our first family road trip. We stayed 2 nights at 4 different places. Each accommodation was different from the one before & each in a new, beautiful location. So you know what that means right? Get ready for road trip posts!!
We started our adventure at Top of the Rock pod park & walking trails in Drimoleague, West Cork. We stayed in a luxury pod. It was our first glamping experience which we thoroughly enjoyed! We also loved spending time on the farm with David & getting to explore beautiful West Cork. Luxury camping is also a fun way to enjoy festivals like Yurtel in Glastonbury.
Next up we headed outside Cork city to the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa. We had adjoining rooms which is super convenient when travelling with kids. As the hotel is east of Cork City, we were only a hop skip & a jump from Fota Wild Life Park & the stunning coastal town of Cobh.
We had a short drive over to our next hotel which was the Clayton Hotel in the heart of Cork city. The hotel’s location was super convenient to walk over to the English Market & to the shops & restaurants. We had a plush family room with stunning views of Cork City.
Next, we headed East to Waterford Castle Island Resort. Yes – a private island! We stayed in a large family lodge, which was the perfect place to explore the island trails & playground. The location is secluded but also only a few kilometres from Waterford city.
I have filled my phone with photos & videos of our travels. I could go on & on about the places we have seen & stayed but I’m saving myself for the upcoming blog posts.
Each of the 4 accommodations will have its own individual post & video. And I will also write & vlog about our travels so you can experience the beautiful scenery & tours we did. I’m also planning a compilation video which will show off stunning Cobh (the town in the feature image above), The Jameson Distillery & Waterford Crystal to name a few places. I’ll also share with you the nicest places we dined.
We also got to enjoy some golf on a beautiful private island in Waterford. Golf is a highlight to any holiday, there are some fabulous golf courses near Austin TX.
Really & truly I’m overexcited today about putting together all of my travel posts! Yay! We are looking into a trip to Carrick-on-Shannon next! There are so many beautiful destinations to visit in Ireland.
Cuddle Fairy will be taken over with travel posts for the next few weeks! So buckle your seat belt & enjoy the trip with us! For more, visit my travel with kids posts. Follow Cuddle Fairy on social media to keep up to date with the upcoming road trip posts. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube. xx

Sounds like a busy and exciting time for you and your family: enjoy! #bloggerclubuk
I love road trip holidays – we’ve done a few of them and it’s so much fun to visit different places. Love the sound of staying on a private island and that glamping pod looks cosy. Love the quote too – making memories and sharing these places with people we love is the best thing about road trips. One of the lovely things about blogging about them is getting to relive them again when writing about them! 🙂 #candidcuddles
The accommodation looks fantastic and I recall my own road trip of southern Ireland with great fondness. #bloggerclubuk
Well I teach my kids jealousy is a bad thing but erm I’m jealous!
