The red carpet during awards season provides fashion inspiration for the year to come. You can see intriguing gowns, gorgeous hairstyles and appealing makeup applied by the most skilled artists in the business. As you look through the icons of the 2024 season, you will see that most had more natural looks, while others had very dramatic makeup. However, you will likely find several similarities.
Rosy Lips
Although you saw many bold lips on the red carpet, most had a rosy quality. The tones remained in the pinks and reds. These softer lip tones often complement rosy cheek colours. Although some likely chose to apply shimmery lip products, like Patrick Ta lip gloss, others chose a matte look.
For a long-lasting application, colour your lips with a liner under the lipstick and/or use a long-wearing lip stain. You can also blot your lips to remove any remaining oils in the lipstick so it stays longer. You can even apply and blot multiple layers to extend its longevity.
Dramatic Eyes
While the lips were somewhat understated in this year’s awards, the eyes were a focal point. Many celebrities had smoky eyes. They also had dramatic liners, such as winged, fox or cat-like applications. Liquid liners help you keep your lines full and smooth.
However, the most recognizable feature of the celebrities’ eyes was their long, thick lashes. You can achieve this by applying a volumizing mascara followed by a lengthening option.
You can also achieve more dramatic lashes by applying one or two sets of false lashes.
Then, affix a second, longer lash on top of the first. You can apply a layer of mascara to both sets of false lashes as well as your natural lashes.
Shimmery and Ethereal
While they often sported natural-looking makeup, many of the celebrities during the 2024 award shows had a shimmery, ethereal look in their makeup. They almost looked fairy kissed in many cases.
Products like a glow face mist can give you a youthful almost shimmery look. However, this look starts with luminous skin. Your skincare routine is the key to this look. You need a gentle, effective cleanser, a balanced toner and a nourishing moisturizer. The right foundation, both in colour and texture, enhances your complexion, making it look dewy, even-toned and smooth.
Blush, eye shadow and eyeliner options also have glimmer and shimmer options. However, avoid choosing multiple shadows that shimmer because they may not blend properly and attractively. You can also use a highlighter to give your face a lift and shine.
Sun-Kissed Skin
Did you notice that the awards attendees had skin that appeared sun-kissed? They looked like they had spent weeks in the sun to get a soft glow all over their skin. In many cases, they just had an expert apply a bronzer that enhanced their beauty. Use a brush to gently sweep a matte bronzer over the higher areas of your face, where the sun would shine on it naturally.
