I can’t believe it’s nearly time for Brit Mums Live 2016!! Only 5 sleeps to go! Woohoo! The fact that I’m attending this conference as a finalist makes it all the more exciting. It’s such an honour to be recognised by such a prestigious award. And, it’s a little surreal. If you are interested, check out the full list of finalists for 2016.

I’m a BiB Award Finalist for 2016 – Written the day I received the email that I was a finalist in the Inspire category. I couldn’t stop jumping around & couldn’t wait to open the prosecco!
What does it mean to inspire? – Becoming a finalist for in the Inspire category got me thinking about this question. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.
I’m travelling from the west of Ireland so I have plane, hotel, train & BML ticket expenses involved with this trip. I am so delighted to be able to attend BML, thanks to my amazing sponsor, Innovo. So, here are my plans!!
I’m flying over to London Friday morning. I am meeting up with one of my blog besties, Prabs from Absolutely Prabulous. Prabs is such a rock star that she’s a finalist for Best Writer in the both the BiBs & MADS awards!! I’m so lucky to call her a friend. We have great banter on Twitter & I can’t wait to meet her & give her a big hug. If you haven’t read her blog yet, please check it out. She really deserves her place as best writer – her open, honest & often funny posts draw you in from the first line.
Prabs & I are meeting some Twitter buddies for dinner before heading to the #BML16 Holiday Inn Friday Night Fringe Party in Camden. I’m hoping to get to know a few more bloggers there so there will be some familiar faces when I arrive at BML early Saturday morning. I’m sure a couple cocktails will be had. When you get a group of parents out without the kids, drinks are an absolute must.
Saturday morning bright & early is registration for BML. The day is a mix of talks, games, eating, connecting with brands & bloggers & lots of learning. There are four “break out session” times where we have a choice of what session we’d like to attend. Choices include learning about Google Analytics, working with brands, improving your Pinterest, growing on Instagram & so much more. I am going to make a list of my top choice sessions although it will be tough to choose as they all sound so useful! If you are attending any of the events, look for me! This is me & I will have a Cuddle Fairy sticker on me.
The Brilliance in Blogging Award (BiBs) ceremony takes place that evening. I’m not sure if I will get changed for the awards or not. I’m totally up in the air on outfit choice due to the crazy weather. A few weeks ago when the sun was shining I thought I’d wear a dress but the rain is making me think skinny jeans now. So stay tuned on the outfit front.
As a finalist, I’m sure I will be a total nervous wreck at this stage. I’m truly honoured to have made it this far & the other four finalists all have such inspiring blogs it will be a tough choice for the judges to make. (But of course, I’d like to win!) lol
After a long day at BML & the BiBs awards, a group of us are heading out to dinner. I’m so looking forward to getting to know my blogger friends in real life.
On Sunday, I’m meeting family who live in London for brunch before flying home. What a whirlwind & exciting weekend it will be!
The big decision left is what to pack! Obviously, I need to decide on outfits & if I am changing for the awards & how dressy I want to be. I am just bringing a carry on bag so I can’t go too crazy with outfit choices. I’ll have to decide at home & just pack the essentials. For BML I’m bringing my new business cards & stickers, my new selfie stick, my phone, charger & a notebook.
