Naked Collagen Review: A Simple Approach to Supporting Skin, Hair, Nails and Joints
collaborative post
If you are considering taking collagen or any supplement, be sure to check with your doctor first; this article is simply my experience and does not constitute medical advice.
As a woman in my 40s, I’m at a point where I’m much more conscious of supporting my skin, joints, hair, nails and overall health than I was when I was younger. And over the years, I’ve become very interested in what I’m actually putting into my body. Not just how many calories something contains or whether it looks good on the label, but what the ingredients really are.
That’s one of the reasons I was interested in trying Naked Collagen. Along with of course, the health and appearance of my skin and supporting my joints.
There is certainly no shortage of collagen supplements on the market these days, but what caught my attention about Naked Collagen was just how simple the ingredient list is. In fact, there really isn’t much of a list at all.

About Naked Nutrition
Naked Nutrition has been around since 2014 and has built its brand around a fairly straightforward idea: keep nutrition products simple and be transparent about what goes into them.
Their philosophy is summed up in their approach to using minimal ingredients and avoiding unnecessary additives. Rather than filling products with artificial sweeteners, colours, flavours and other extras, the company focuses on the actual nutritional ingredient.
That approach particularly appeals to me because I’m always reading ingredient lists both in supplements and in any foods I buy.
With Naked Collagen, there’s no complicated formula to decipher. There is one main ingredient, and the company tells you exactly what it is.

One Ingredient — And Nothing Else
This is probably the biggest selling point of Naked Collagen for me.
The one ingredient is collagen peptides (bovine), sourced from certified pasture-raised, grass-fed cattle. That’s it.
There are no fillers, no added sugar, no artificial sweeteners and no unnecessary extras. The product is also gluten-free, soy-free and GMO-free. Naked Nutrition states it is free from hormones, antibiotics and industrial feeds. I really like the simplicity of this.
Each serving provides 9 grams of protein for just 35 calories, which makes it an easy addition to my daily routine without adding calories.
And despite being completely unflavoured, it’s designed to be odourless and tasteless. It is easy to mix into drinks.
For me, this is exactly what I want from a supplement: the ingredient I’m actually looking for, rather than a whole collection of things I didn’t ask for.

Why Take Collagen?
Collagen is one of the main structural proteins in the human body. It plays an important role in the structure of our skin, bones, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues.
The natural production of collagen decreases as we age, which is one reason collagen supplementation has become increasingly popular.
And honestly, this is something that becomes a little more relevant when you reach your 40s.
In my 20s and even much of my 30s, I didn’t spend much time thinking about collagen. My skin was simply my skin, my joints were my joints, and I certainly wasn't thinking about how much collagen my body was producing.
But as we get older, maintaining skin elasticity, supporting our joints and looking after our overall musculoskeletal health become much more important.
For me, I think of collagen as part of a bigger picture rather than a magic powder. It’s not going to suddenly turn back the clock, but providing the body with the building blocks it needs makes sense as part of an overall healthy lifestyle.
And then there are the beauty benefits that make collagen particularly appealing. Collagen is important for skin structure, hydration and elasticity, while its amino acids are also involved in proteins such as keratin, which is important for hair and nails.

How Do You Take Naked Collagen?
One of the easiest things about Naked Collagen is that you can add it to just about anything.
Because it is unflavoured, you don't have to commit to drinking a particular flavoured shake every day. You can mix it into a hot or cold drink, add it to a smoothie or even incorporate it into certain recipes.
Naked Nutrition recommends mixing one to two scoops into around 4–8 ounces of coffee or another hot beverage, and the powder can also be added to smoothies or baking.
Personally, I love supplements that don't require much thought. If something can simply become part of your existing morning routine, you're much more likely to stick with it.
Here is Naked Collagen mixed with 8oz/250ml of water, you can see how fine the granules are...

My Experience With Naked Collagen
So, what did I actually think of it?
The collagen is ground very fine, so it stirs into a drink so easily and without any clumps, which made it so simple to use! I have tried it in water and coffee so far. I used one scoop with 250ml of cold water. And I used one scoop in a cup of coffee. Both worked excellently, combining easily, and both were nice to drink.
I'm really delighted that I can add collagen to my daily routine by adding it to my daily coffee and not even taste it. Nothing special has to be done, which means it is easy to take, which means I will take it!

Final Thoughts
Overall, what stands out to me about Naked Collagen is its simplicity. One ingredient. No fillers. No artificial sweeteners. No unnecessary extras.
Just collagen peptides from pasture-raised cattle, providing 9 grams of protein for 35 calories per serving. The fact that it is unflavoured and easy to mix makes it particularly convenient for everyday use. I will be able to easily add it to my daily cup of coffee and not even taste it!
That's what I appreciate most about it. There are so many supplements available now that it can be difficult to know what you actually need. Naked Collagen takes a much simpler approach.
