During our stay at The Connacht Hotel, we had a fabulous dinner at Rueben’s Restaurant Galway. It’s the hotel’s own restaurant & is conveniently located downstairs near reception.
Our server was excellent with our three kiddies. She brought them each a coloring page & told them that there was a coloring competition going on. They were kept busy doing their best coloring until their meals came out. Our daughter was practicing her famous two handed coloring technique.
There are plenty of lovely things on the kids menu to choose from. All three of our kids ordered the pizza, juice, chips & dessert option from the set menu. Our 8-year-old finished everything! The orange & apple juices were proper juices & presented very nicely with a slice of orange on the side of the glass.
Our server brought the kiddie dinners with the starters which I always appreciate as it makes the evening run smoother for everyone. Our starters were gorgeous. I ordered the chicken caesar salad & my husband ordered the chicken wings. Everything was fresh & full of color & flavor
I had a lovely chicken dinner & my husband had curried monkfish. Just like the starters, everything was beautifully presented, full of flavor & very tasty! The kids finished the dinners & returned to coloring while we enjoyed our main courses.
Dessert was also fabulous. The kids ordered cookie & ice cream. It was so beautifully presented! During the meal, our server had asked each of them their name. When their desserts came out, each plate had their name written in chocolate sauce. It was such a nice touch & the kids were super impressed! They marveled at how she knew their names (short term memory lol).
My husband & I shared a dessert which was also delicious & beautifully presented. I was so impressed with the attention to detail in every course.
All three of the kids did such an amazing job coloring that our server couldn’t choose one winner so all three of them won a lolly. The kids were delighted with her decision. They were so well looked after! Our server took excellent care of us all! The dinner was gorgeous & the atmosphere was relaxed. We would be delighted to dine at Rueben’s Restaurant again, next time we are in Galway!
