The Happiness Series With Twinderelmo

I’m delighted to welcome Beth from Twinderelmo to The Happiness Series this week! Beth is a stay at home mum of twin girls & a boy. She writes about parenting, interiors, & life. Here is Twinderelmo on happiness…

1. Name three things in life that make you happy. And, please tell us a little about each one.

My children – they drive me crackers at time but seeing them all giggling, smiling and playing together absolutely melts my heart!

Slimming World – I joined back in January and it’s helped me lose over two stone and more importantly given me my confidence back. I was so depressed over my weight so it has really worked wonders!

My dresser – I have wanted a dresser for my kitchen for as long as I can remember so when my husband got me one as a surprise it was just amazing! It makes me smile every time I go into our kitchen.

2. What’s something you do to find your happiness when you’ve lost it?

Well, it used to be to eat but I’ve broken that habit! I like to go for a run which puts me in a better headspace to be able to focus on good things. Also having plans to look forward to and focus on is something I love.

3. What cheers you up after a long, difficult day?

Snuggling on the sofa in my favourite blanket and lots of trashy tv! Usually, a good gossip on what’s app with my best buddy and sister also makes things seem easier.

4. Does your job make you happy? If you are a SAH parent, does that make you happy?

I love being able to be a SAH parent but it’s been hard. I went back to work after having my son and took voluntary redundancy when on maternity with my twins so I’ve seen both sides of the coin. I do get lonely being home alone but it has flown by and they will start nursery in September so my little crew is disbanding sob!

5. Share a happy memory with us.

My Mom and I discovered a programme all about Monkey World back in 2005 and proceeded to visit Dorset every year on a trip to the park. Dorset holds lots of wonderful memories and I have taken the kids there now. It makes me feel closer to her when we go there as I remember the wonderful times we spent.

6. Do you think money can bring happiness?

In some respects. It’s so lovely being able to treat your children to things they would love to do or see so from that aspect it definitely can but I’m sure it brings with it an aspect of expectation and not appreciating the value of anything.

7. Is your happiness influenced by the things you do or the way you think?

For me – Definitely. I was so miserable at the way I looked last year and since exercising and following the slimming world plan I am so much happier.

8. Which would make you the happiest – a sun holiday, new car or a new job opportunity?

A holiday would be absolutely amazing right about now!

9. Which wine makes you happier – red or white? ????

White. Always white with bubbles!

10. Share a quote that makes you smile.

If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely. Roald Dahl
