Brasserie on the Corner

Over Easter holidays, we had the pleasure of eating at our favorite restaurant in Galway – Brasserie on the Corner. The Brasserie on the Corner is located in the heart of Galway’s city center near Eyre Square. This was our fourth time dining here & we have never been disappointed. Every time we visit the Brasserie on the Corner, the food is exquisite, service excellent & the atmosphere fabulous.

The Brasserie is warm, inviting & stylish. The dark timber & soft lighting makes it feel trendy & comfortable. We (hubby, 3 kiddies & myself) arrived a little early to enjoy one of the Brasserie’s amazing cocktails before dinner. The barman was so good with the kids & served them their drinks in the bottles with a straw as requested.

I love the fun & stylish vibe at the Brasserie. It’s a great place for couples, friends or families to enjoy a meal out. The decor is really welcoming & comfortable whether you are there as a couple as a big group.

The Brasserie on the Corner is always very welcoming of our children. They gave each child a colouring page & crayons when we were seated at our table. Our server brought the children’s meals first which is a big plus for me. When they were done eating, they coloured while my husband & I enjoyed our dinners.

The pre-theatre menu runs every evening from 5 – 7 pm. It’s amazing value & every time we have eaten here we came for this menu. The kids had a lovely choice of foods. They were very accommodating & put the sauce on the side for my fussy eaters who loved the sauce, used it all & asked for more.

For starters, I had the McGeough’s ham hock & cumin seed cheese terrine. My husband had the special starter of the evening which was a smoked salmon dish. Both were beautifully presented. The combination of flavours was amazing. The little dollops of sauces & flavours went together so nicely.

In every course, the chef’s attention to detail was unsurpassed in quality of food & the flavour combinations. For the main course, my husband had the slow roast Castlemaine Farm silverside of beef which was unbelievably tender. I had the oven baked Irish chicken breast with risotto arancini. We each had a choice of side dishes.

As you can see, the presentation is beautiful! Both dinners were gorgeous & our plates were cleaned. Even though I was quite full I had to try the baked pineapple cheesecake with mango glaze & coconut ice cream. It tasted as good as it sounds!

I really can’t say enough about the tastiness of the Brasserie’s food. They take good quality ingredients & turn them into something amazing with their flavour combinations. Their ethos is quality & it shines through in every aspect of your dining experience at the Brasserie. The food, atmosphere, service & cleanliness are all top notch. We will definitely visit the Brasserie on the Corner again on our next trip to Galway.
