Today we have Jordanne from The Life of a Glasgow Girl with us on The Happiness Series. Take it away Jordanne…
1. Name three things in life that make you happy. And, please tell us a little about each one.
My son! He is my world, my absolute everything and I am just so proud of him each and every day. He is the one thing in my life that I know I’ve done right. His smile lights up my life and seeing him every day makes me super SUPER happy.
Photography – I am so proud of myself for deciding to pursue a career that makes me so happy. I really wanted to go for something that I loved and knew I wouldn’t dread doing each and every day which has made a career in photography so satisfying. Taking photos really makes me happy and I always feel super relaxed when I have a camera in my hand.
BUBBLE BATHS! I am such a sucker for bubble baths and they do genuinely make me happy. I have such an addiction to Lush products and trying new ones so being able to lay in a nice hot bath with some candles really takes me to my happy place.

2. What’s something you do to find your happiness when you’ve lost it?
I always go on a long walk with my son, I like to get back to nature and watch Leon run around in the mud picking up sticks and pretending he is a wizard. Seeing him play and use his imagination outside brings me so much joy that I forget about things for a little while.
3. What cheers you up after a long, difficult day?
Getting into my pjs, putting on a film or Tv series (depending on my mood) Pouring a big glass of apple juice (I know, I am SOOOO hard core haha) and curling up in bed with my cat. When I have had a long day I just don;t want to do anything so that is exactly what happens, I do nothing. The house work can wait right?
4. Does your job make you happy? If you are a SAH parent, does that make you happy?
Right now I am working towards a career in photography but I am so happy with my situation right now. I get to watch my little guy grow and bring him on my adventures when I go to photograph places. Eventually I want to get back to working full time but for now I’m content.

5. Share a happy memory with us.
There is a memory that always sticks out in my mind, it’s one when I was truly happy and didn’t think about a care in the world. I was a little younger, 19 at the time and I was staying at a friends flat that over looked the most beautiful park (kelvingrove in glasgow). There had been a rain storm all day so we cooked some terrible ready meals she had in the freezer, lit the place with candles because the power was out, brought the covers, pillows etc… to the living room of her flat, stuck on some david bowie records and danced. We danced for well over two hours, giggling and making plans for the future. In that moment I was happy, I was blessed and I didn’t have any cares. I don’t know why but it is a memory that brings me butterflies when I think of it because of how innocent and full of hope we were. Now both of us have our own families and are working our way towards our dream jobs.
6. Do you think money can bring happiness?
Yes and no. Some of the best memories I have are from when I was younger and we hardly had any money when my mum was going through a rough spot, but even though we didn’t have money, we had each other and made some unforgettable memories. But I also believe that going on holiday or treating yourself to some new clothes etc… brings happiness and you can’t do that without money. I guess you don’t NEED money to bring you happiness but it helps sometimes.
I skipped 7 because I couldn’t think of an answer, sorry!
8. Which would make you the happiest – a sun holiday, new car or a new job opportunity?
Right now? A sun holiday because I believe we all need it (My gran, son and me) We have been through so much lately that I think getting away to a warm, sunny country would do us good.
9. Which wine makes you happier – red or white? ????
Neither, A tall glass of vodka and coke on the other hand…. haha
10. Share a quote that makes you smile.
“Storms make trees take deeper roots” This quote really hits home for me. After being diagnosed with depression and social anxiety, My mother passing away and experiencing a lot of death plus going through so much in my life already, This quote just makes sense. I am stronger than ever now.
