One of the biggest concerns among parents is helping their child to nap & sleep the night. Sleep issues aren’t just for babies, they can continue into toddlerhood & beyond. Many children stop sleeping at one stage or another & as a result, mom & dad don’t sleep either. I’ve recently been introduced to a great sleep resource for parents called The Baby Sleep Site.
Baby Sleep Site Products & Services
The Baby Sleep Site offers a range of products & services to tailor a sleep schedule for your child. They have Free Resources which includes articles, guides & sample sleep schedules. There is also the Do it Yourself* option where you may purchase books & access to the Members Area.
The Members Area* has an amazing selection of resources including access to all of their articles, e-books, custom schedule generator & the members chat room where you can get help from a sleep consultant. The Members Area is recommended if you are interested in any of the following:
Night weaning
Sleep options for parents of multiples
Newborn sleep & feeding
No-cry solutions
Maintaining sleep schedules across multiple caregivers
Transitioning sleep schedules & sleep schedules during travel
For a one on one, specialized plan for your child, the Baby Sleep Site offers consulting services. You communicate with a sleep expert either via email or over the phone. They make a program specifically for your child based on your needs & beliefs. They work with both no-cry & cry it out solutions.
The 5-Step System to Better Toddler Sleep
The site isn’t’ just for babies, there are books, articles, schedules & expert consultations for toddlers as well. Because my baby is 30 months old, I had a good look at the toddler resources & found them extremely useful.
The Tired Parent’s 5-Step System to better Toddler Sleep gives schedules for toddlers to follow including eating, napping, going to bed & waking up times. It also has suggestions on dealing with night waking due to nightmares & also no-mares as they call it where the child doesn’t have a bad dream. There’s advice on helping your toddler to sleep alone. They give a range of techniques to help your toddler fall asleep & stay asleep. Some involve crying & others have minimal to no crying. I love that this site realizes that all kids & families are different & require different approaches.
On a Personal Note
My second & third babies didn’t’ sleep the night until they turned 2-years-old & stopped napping. That meant years of sleepless nights for myself & my husband. I googled sleep solutions, bought books & talked to friends. Despite all of that, nothing consistently worked.
Our son woke several times a night & would not go back to sleep. Our daughter didn’t wake as much as our son, but when she woke she wouldn’t settle again & I often ended up bringing her into bed with us. If I had known about The Baby Sleep Site I definitely would have utilized their resources. A good nights sleep is so important for parents & kiddies alike!

Both my boys are (just about) sleeping through now or I’d have checked this out. Surviving on no sleep is not fun so anything that might actually help parents going through that is great.
#AnythingGoes
Absolutely, I’m glad yours are sleeping the night, it’s a great relief x
Dealing with kids not sleeping through the night is such a nightmare… Luckily my two kids now are very good, they both sleep through the night without any bother, which is quiet an achievement. #BabyBrainMonday
That is a glorious achievement! Long may it last x
Gosh this brings back some memories! I practically lived off every word published on the Baby Sleep Site in the first year…not sure what I would have down without it! #BabyBrainMonday
This sounds like a great resource, as I think most parents go through this, and not all people are confident enough to ask for help or advice 🙂
Thanks for linking up to #AnythingGoes
Debbie
I think so too Debbie. I wish I had known there were these kind of resources out there so I could get some sleep! Good luck in the competition & thank you for hosting x
Dealing with sleep issues is so hard. However you do get your own back when they are teenagers and you cwake them in the mornings!!
A lack of sleep is awful. This is a really interesting resource for the problem. Thank you for sharing. Kirsten
What a great resource! This is a Godsend for parents and should be included in the Bounty pack! I am lucky, both my girls are sleepers but my best friend’s girl has only just started sleeping through at the age of two. I will show her this post. X
That’s fantastic your kiddies slept well. Thank you for sharing the post x
These types of things are brilliant. I can’t remember which one we used with Charlie now, but it was excellent. I think it is the sticking to a pattern and routine for sleep that is key. great giveaway for parents in need! #TwinklyTuesday
Yes, routine definitely is important. Knowing what routine to set & enforcing it can be so tricky. x
Sleep around our house has never been great. Like you, the kids haven’t really slept through the night until they dropped naps. Things are slowly getting better but we could use more help!
It’s definitely a common problem! And sleep is so important.
We had real problems with sleep when my daughter was younger because of her reflux but things have settled now. It’s so difficult to deal with broken sleep.
They are really good I used them with Bella because I was lost and it was very helpful at that time. Great giveaway! 🙂 xx
#TwinklyTuesday
I definitely need this for my toddler. I’ve never heard of this before but it sounds so useful. Evie wakes up a lot in the night lately and we have no idea why. We all really need sleep again! xx #twinklytuesday
I hear ya – it’s so rough when they wake up every night, it makes getting through the day so tough.
Both my boys have chronic Insomnia as part of their special needs conditions but I would love for one night to think they would sleep the night. Having read your review I am going to try the website as you never know maybe it is something simple that is keeping them awake and instead of looking at it from a special needs perspective I need to re-evaluate what the problem may be. Really enjoyed your Review 😀
Oh I’m so sorry to hear that. Have a look at the site & see, there are some good free resources there as well. I hope you can find something that helps x
My toddler is a perfect sleeper and I really hope that doesn’t change. My eldest was awake 23 hours a day and couldn’t go back there- it was awful!
Oh wow that is awful! Looking back it’s a wonder how you got through that lack of sleep, it makes everything much harder x
My son has a very erratic sleeping pattern, some nights he’s so easy to get to sleep, others hes a real nightmare
Nightmares are so tough! It’s hard to know how to handle them.
I’m fortunate to have a fantastic sleeper on my hands. This information would be incredibly useful to so many sleep deprived children and parents. If I win the giveaway, I’m going to pass this book to a friend of mine. Great post, Becky! xx
Thank you, Katie 🙂 That’s wonderful that your little one is a great sleeper! x
Sounds like such a great resource. Baby has regressed at the moment and is waking twice a night, meaning about 4.5 hours sleep for me 🙁 x
Oh, that’s rough! My daughter has been waking up this week too – it’s as if she knows I published this post & is going to prove me wrong lol I hope Baby starts sleeping the night again soon x
Sleep is so important, some good advice here #KidsCorner
Oh I need this in my life right now! I’m exhausted after a terrible night! Fingers crossed. Thanks for linking up to #BabyBrainMonday xx
Oh I’m sorry to hear that Harps – I hope you win! x
This looks so good for parents that are struggling with sleep. After my third son, I kind of realised that I have to get used to getting no sleep. Maybe one day I will though
It’s impossible to get used to no sleep – I dealt with that for years & it’s rough & makes the day more difficult.
Lamb was such a good sleeper until he turned 1 and it went downhill from there. He’s 2 1/2 and still wakes up if he’s in his own bed, but in our bed he sleeps straight through. I know we shouldn’t let him sleep with is but we all get a decent nights sleep if we do! This looks like a fab site with helpful info xx
I’m guilty of doing the same thing. It’s no good when it becomes a habit though. I hope he starts sleeping the night in his own bed soon x
We’ve been so, so lucky in this department. The twins have been amazing sleepers since they were about 9 weeks. My boy and I both agree that it’s the main reason why we’ve enjoyed parenthood so much. Getting lots of sleep makes things a lot, LOT easier doesn’t it? Thanks for linking up to #TwinklyTuesday — much appreciated x
Getting sleep makes all the difference. That’s fantastic yours were such great sleepers! Thank you for hosting x
Great review! I am lucky as I have never had serious sleep issues with 2/3 minis. My middle child however often comes in the middle of the night “needing me” depending on whether or not hubby is working or not I will just let her crawl into bed with me for it’s easier on both of our sleep. I have also put her back in her bed and laid down with her. I then have a talk with her the next day to see why she came in “needing me” and usually at the end of the conversation she promises not to do it again and does pretty well …until the next time lol.
lol sure that’s how it goes when they are little & they definitely go through stages with waking up. It’s awesome your three sleep well, long may it last 🙂 x
My youngest was a terrible sleeper until about 9 months. We tried everything but it the end he just found his routine and it’s been fine ever since.
That’s fantastic you had things sorted out by 9months! Well done x
Some of my children were wonderful sleepers! My second born, however, still has trouble sleeping (he’s 10). My toddler sleeps great!….so long as I am touching him.
It’s funny how some children have more difficulty than others in the same house. It shows it’s not down to the routine or parenting side of things. x
Oh, absolutely! My first baby was an amazing sleeper. Imagine my surprise when all of my best techniques meant nothing at all to baby number 2. haha
That is the story of my life right there. I always say if I had my second child first, I would have thought I’d learned my techniques & that’s why the second slept. It’s crazy how each child is so different!
I’m interested in seeing how my baby’s sleep changes when she gets into toddlerhood.
Love the babysleepsite!
I love the baby sleep site, too! My LO (20 mo) is not a great sleeper, but she’s still learning. Her dad is a terrible sleeper, and I’m a great sleeper (or used to be), so I’m working hard to teach her to sleep well. Thanks for the review!
Who knew that toddlerhood brought its own new set of sleep challenges?
My son is almost two now. The babysleepsite was my go-to resource for sleep information. There are tons of helpful sleep articles (free BTW!) Nicoles no nonsense and gentle approach is the exact style I was looking for. I would love this giveaway because my son is just starting his toddler stage and I will need the help. Especially since we have another on the way! Thanks!
Congratulations on the new baby. The Toddler Sleep book is really useful, good luck in the competition! x
I love the Baby Sleep site! I have a 10 mo. old and he is only waking once throughout the night! We were having to get up 5+ times with him!!
Oh, that’s so rough, I was there with my second child, it makes the days very difficult.
Hoo boy, the no-mares. Our little girl is 3 years old now and she wakes up almost every single night at around 3 AM. We have no idea why. She has no idea why, but she wants to be comforted. The sleep challenges never really end in our house; they just evolve!
That said, I’ll add my voice to the chorus of those who love the Baby Sleep site. We had an awful time getting more than 2-3 hours in a row of sleep through 14 months with our kid. It felt like we’d tried everything, and we couldn’t think straight enough to come up with even a basic plan for how to move forward. A basic consultation package with Nicole’s team was a life saver. Using gentle techniques, we saw massive improvements within a week, and our sanity returning thereafter!
That’s so amazing. I’m glad you were able to have the sleep sorted with gentle techniques! I totally agree with you, sleep patterns evolve and a good sleeper can become a bad sleeper & vice versa. Thank you for sharing your baby sleep site story! x
What a fab resource! Thanks for sharing in #KidsCorner x
Awesomely amazing resource! I 2 month and 20 day old and he wakes twice to feed at night, now he sleeps 6 hours straight at night. I love the Baby Sleep Site!
That’s fantastic! I’m so glad it was a success for you! x
Thanks for the find! My 2 year old doesn’t sleep well day or night. The sleep site has some good articles, and just might save my sanity:)
My 15-month-old was a terrible sleeper for most of his first year and is much better now. But I’m afraid of what the toddler years will bring for sleeping!
My daughter never slept. 3-5 hours when she should have been sleeping 12-18 a day. It was so awful. The doctors were amazed because she was completely healthy & developing normally. I was *this* close to being hospitalized for exhaustion (ony was not because the doctor prescribed a weeklong babysitter so mommy could sleep, lol).
I was tremendously lucky with my sunshine. She slept like a stone. But my friends aren’t. They are going on empty at the moment and look like zombies. This would be the perfect gift. Thanks for the chance.
Our toddler still struggles sometimes with sleeping through the night, so we could definitely use this resource!
