London can be expensive, but that being said, you don’t need to have a huge budget in order to do everything you want. In fact, when you take the time to plan your trip, you’ll soon find that it’s easier than ever for you to have the best experience. Here are some tips for sightseeing in London.

South Kensington

South Kensington is home to the V&A. This houses some of the finest art in the world. It’s also full of historic fashion items and textiles. The exhibits are not to be missed and it’s completely free to visit. There are sometimes events that are held at the museum and you will need a ticket for these, but they’re not usually too much.

Borough Market

Borough Market is one of the largest and oldest markets in the world. It’s a huge hit with both tourists and locals, not to mention that they have a ton of free samples for you to choose from. This mega-market can be found at the London Bridge and the history of it goes all the way back to the thirteenth century. The Borough Market is also home to artisan traders, and some of the finest restaurants in the city. If you’re looking for something to do in the middle of the night, then you’ll be glad to know that a lot of stores here are open until late.


Soho is a neighborhood in the West End.  If you want to really soak up those city vibes or if you are only traveling to London for a short period of time, then this is certainly one place you want to visit. The alleyways are full of life and there are tons of pavement cafes too. You can watch the world go by in all its glory, and it’s a hit with the locals.


The Tate Modern can be found in Bankside. If you want to be inspired, then this is certainly the place to visit. When you step inside, you’ll see work from Warhol, Hockney and Dali too. The installations are eye-catching, and they are all part of the permanent collection. It’s free to get in and you can also see a 360-degree view of the London skyline. If you want something to fill the evening, then the Book Of Mormon London should certainly be on your list. Just make sure you book tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.


Kew Gardens have a very impressive sound and light installation. It’s triggered by the activity of the Kew Bees, which are in a hive nearby. You really don’t want to miss out on this because it’s got over 300 acres of beautiful space and the vistas are well and truly stunning. You have Victorian glasshouses, a treetop walkway and of course, The Hive. The restored Temperate House is also an absolute delight, so if you want something to do on a budget then this should certainly be on your list. It’s ideal for families too, so look into it and plan out your journey so you can fit it into your schedule.
