I have been blogging for a little over one year now. When I first started blogging I used to sit on the couch with my laptop. When I started blogging for more hours each day I needed to find a new location. We don’t have a home office so I settled on the kitchen island.
Months later & I am still at the kitchen island! It’s a central location which is good on the one hand but bad on the other. The nice side is that I can see & hear the goings on of the kids from my spot. The bad side is I hate having the laptop & papers there all of the time, in my way. And, it’s a little too easy to hop back on the laptop while I’m cooking.
Plus, my pile of papers & laptop takes up a good portion of the counter so it can be in my way when I’m baking or cooking a big meal. So one of my goals this year is to get myself a designated blogging space complete with a desk! The thought of a desk makes me so happy! A place to leave the laptop & all of my papers so they are organized & so I can walk away from them. Ideally, I’d love a simple, small, clean cut desk like this one from Furniture@Work.
I have been looking around the house & selected the corner of our dining room as a good location. The rocker will just have to go! When the kids are older I could set myself up with a corner upstairs but for now, I need to have my things where I can still keep an eye on the kiddies. Because it’s a small space I’m thinking of a corner desk or a simple desk with clean lines.
