Staying as Positive as Possible During Lockdown

collaborative post

Pandemics aren’t the most positive of times for humanity. There are all sorts of tragedies that go on within them. From people dying, to mourning, to loss of jobs, to the downfall of the economy and all sorts of other worries and concerns. Right now, many of us are having a difficult time and we’re feeling overwhelmed with sentiments such as loneliness, frustration, boredom and more.

Staying home all day every day isn’t the hardest thing in the world to do, but it’s not exactly easy either. If you live with others, you could find yourselves in arguments or lacking space and privacy. If you live alone, you can find yourself experiencing high levels of loneliness.

But the most important thing to do right now is to keep your chin up. This all has to pass eventually, or we will find a way to work with it. Until then, here are some simple things you can do to help boost your mood and raise positivity levels!

Think of What You’re Grateful For

It’s easy to lament right now. You might have lost a loved one. You might have lost a job. But try your best to think of things you’re grateful for too. Try creating a list each morning. It could be simple things. Perhaps you’re happy you have an internet connection and can video call loved ones. Maybe you’ve got food in the cupboards and can put meals on the table each night. Maybe you’re still able to work remotely from home. Whatever it is, it’s important to be grateful for what you do have and for anything that brings only the smallest smile to your face. Focusing on these things, rather than things that aren’t going well or to plan, can help ease your mood and bring happiness.

Communicate With Others

Staying in touch with others can help to occupy your mind and reduce loneliness. The good news is that nowadays there are plenty of ways to keep in touch without having to see people on a face to face basis. Use video calls. Phone calls. Texts. Social media messaging. Email. Whatever helps you to keep in touch with your nearest and dearest. You can also do things like have a free psychic reading to keep you entertained!

Maintain Routine

It’s easy to feel lost and disoriented when you completely lack routine. This is why it’s essential to maintain one as best possible. Sure, you might not need to be up for anything in particular in the morning, so it can be tempting to go to bed when you want and rise when you want. But it’s much healthier to keep some kind of routine or schedule. Get up at the same time each day. Have your meals around the same time each day. Go to bed at the same time each day. This will bring a sense of normality to things.

These steps are so easy to implement into your routine and can have profound benefits for you. So, try them out! It’s worth a shot!
