Ultra Pure Coconut Oil

The lovely people over at Ultra Pure Laboratories have sent me some of their coconut oil to try! I reviewed their Ultra Pure Toners last month & thoroughly enjoyed the all natural ingredients so I was keen to try their coconut oil.

Ultra Pure Laboratories is a family run business located in Foxford Co. Mayo. This Irish owned company produces high-quality products including creams, oils, liquids, powder & gels. All of their products are manufactured to a high standard. Ultra Pure products can be found in pharmacies around Ireland & in the UK.

I love to support local business & I also love to use pure products both for cooking & for my skin. I think the less ingredients the better. And we always avoid any artificial ingredients. Well, you can’t get more pure than this product as the only ingredient is – coconut oil.

There are many uses for coconut oil. It can be used for cooking, as a natural skin softener &  as hair conditioner. Becuase the only ingredient is coconut oil, this is fragrance-free. There is no smell from it at all. The oil is hard in the jar as you can see here.

It’s easy to scrape the coconut oil out with a spoon. I tried it for all three applications & have to say I’m very impressed with this product. It was lovely to stir fry with! It’s fabulous on dry skin. Two of my children have very dry skin on their hands & I found the coconut oil very good for relieving the dryness. It is a little greasy on the skin at first application but it absorbs quickly. It was also great for removing cradle cap from our daughter’s hair.

Coconut oil is recommended for your hair as a conditioner to help repair sun damaged, dry or brittle hair. It’s also useful in treating dandruff as it is a moisturizer & also has anti-fungal properties. Many lotions have coconut oil as an ingredient along with a lot of other things I can’t pronounce & don’t know what they are.

I’m enjoying using the Ultra Pure Coconut Oil because of its pure ingredient & many uses. I had my nails done with shellac for the first time & the beautician told me that rubbing coconut or almond oil onto the nails will help them last longer so I’ve been using the coconut oil for that too. They are lovely & shiny! There is more information & uses of coconut oil on the Ultra Pure website.

I received the coconut oil through my membership to the ITWBN network. All Irish bloggers are welcome to join & I highly recommend this group! x

Disclosure: I was sent the coconut oil for purposes of this review, all opinions are my own.
